ANNUAL PICNIC

The Picnic Culture of Bengalis is an exclusive element of the state of West Bengal! Bengali's have always planned their Picnics as a big group of friends and families will all travel with all necessary Prep items for cooking to a nearby Park and setup and cook a full simplistic meal together. By simplistic menu - An essential Bengali Picnic menu is always Snacks(Jhal Muri/Fruits) and a Main Course Meal(Steaming Rice, Dal and Mangshor Jhol). This year, we recreated this unique get-together with all our Member Families and came together at the Picnic venue, cooked the food, spent the day with lots of Fun, Games, Adda, FOOD and even more Adda's. This event is a reminder that Volunteers and Members are what builds a fun-filled experience. The pictures can just show a piece of how much fun each and every one of us had. A Picnic is a party for Bengali's. Nostalgia around picnics is very high, and we do give it all our efforts to rebuild and revive those unique memories!

Each summer ends with our annual member picnic. For the last few years, our destination has been the pristine and beautiful parks of the North Carolina state park system.  We join the many thousands of individuals who take advantage of the natural beauty, ecological features, recreational and cultural resources within the state parks system and throw a party! We rent one of the shelters for a day, organize a cookout and potluck lunch and offer a bevy of games and competitive activities for our children, youth and adults. The picnic serves as a space for all of us to relax, socialize, participate in the many activities and eat some fabulous food! This event is free for our members and is considered a member benefit.
